Shirley Rae McCall Banks LakeAug. 13, 1932 ~ Nov. 11, 2012Shirley Rae McCall Banks Lake, 80, of Bountiful, Utah, born Aug. 13, 1932 died Nov. 11, 2012. Shirley loved holidays. She had the crafter's eye for decorating-making costumes, fancy cakes, and things for every celebration. She loved to give presents, sing and recite poetry, always putting a touch of humor in her performance. When she read poetry she always got a reaction from the audience. She was a master of expression, especially when she presented to kids. Her house was her hobby; she was constantly coming up with ideas to try in her yard, planting flowers and shrubs to beautify her surroundings. Family was very important to her. She loved genealogy and sharing her ancestors' stories. Shirley was very caring, taking care of her husband who was wheelchair-bound and her aging brother. She made sure they were involved in all the family activities. Shirley will be reunited with her late husband Johnny Ray Lake and her son Paul who died in infancy. She is survived by her two daughters Donita Tingey and Loralee Leavitt (Dennis), and three sons Robert (Carlene), Ray (Kathy), and Darin (Sandy) Banks, two brothers, Cliff and Lee McCall and her first husband, Don Lamar Banks. She had 16 grandchildren and 18 great- grandchildren. She will be greatly missed. Services are Nov. 15 at 11:00 at the Val Verda 4th Ward House, 2663 S 50 W, Bountiful, with a viewing beforehand from 9:30 to 10:45. A viewing on Nov. 14 will be at Russon Brothers Funeral Home in Bountiful, 295 N Main, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30.
