Glen Leo Greenwood1917 ~ 2012Sandy, UtahGlen Leo Greenwood, age 95, passed away November 8, 2012 in Sandy, Utah. He was born in Sandy, Utah August 26, 1917 to David Ezra and Sarah Jennet Bishop Greenwood. He attended school in Sandy and graduated from Jordan High in 1935. He met the love of his life, Donna Beth Wootton in 1940; they were married January 29, 1941 in the Salt Lake Temple.He was proud to serve his country in the Army Air Corps, in Trinidad, British West Indies, during World War II. He worked at a variety of jobs in his lifetime including being a Fuller Brush man and he retired from managing the Central Warehouse for Jordan School District.Glen and Donna enjoyed working with the Sons of the Utah Pioneers; he was recently recognized as a member for 50 years. He served four terms as President of the Temple Quarry Chapter and served on the National Board of the SUP for 10 years. He was elected National SUP President in 1983 and 1984, and then served as national secretary for two and a half years. He and Donna enjoyed putting together tours for the Temple Quarry Chapter and traveling all over the United States.Glen was a member of the LDS Church and served in many leadership callings. Glen and Donna enjoyed camping with the Friendly Campers and the Good Sam club.Glen was preceded in death by Donna, his sweetheart of over 71 years, who died on March 2, 2012. Also by his son Robert, son-in-law Dale Mortensen, great grandsons Dawson Strate, and Daxton Greenwood, and by all ten brothers and sisters and their spouses.He is survived by his children: Leo (Karla), Glenda (Gary) Nezos, JoAnne Mortensen, Eldon (Karen), Jerry (Joy), and Gary and by 20 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Virgil Wootton.The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation and gratitude for the care he received from Amy from Visiting Angels, Lucas from Inspiration Hospice, Jordan and Marianne from One Care Hospice, and all those who cared for him at Sandy Health and Rehab.Funeral services will be held Friday November 16, 2012 at 11:00 am at the LDS Chapel located at 8735 South Harvard Park Drive, (1060 East) Sandy, Utah. A viewing for family and friends will be held Thursday November 15, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Mountain View Memorial Mortuary located at 3115 East 7800 South, and at the church on Friday from 10:00 to 10:45 am prior to the service.
