Muriel B. Webecke1914 ~ 2012Muriel Ava Brown Webecke, spirited spark of our family, passed on November 11, 2012. She was born October 24, 1914, in a farmhouse in Byron, New York, to her educated farming father, Searls, and a teaching mother, Addie Cole Brown. She left the farm at age 16 to attend USC. Muriel LOVED teaching math, French, Spanish and English literature at CA schools including LBCC, LB Poly, and Wilson Highs. Married Ernest P. Webecke in 1941, welcoming three children in LB, CA with music, travel, dance, art, family history, swimming and laughter.After converting to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1952, Muriel used her artistic and teaching talents for over 50 years in many church positions. Her cure-all was being busy and she made work fun. She had confidence in others that made them want to do their best. Mom, thanks for being so FUN!She was a wonderful mother to Paul (Jane) Webecke of West Point, UT, Laraine (Todd) Shoemaker of Draper, UT, and Karen Molen of Salt Lake City, UT. Roller-coaster-riding "Gram" to 14 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren. Greeted in heaven by her sweetheart, Ernest, her brother and 2 sisters, 2 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.Heartfelt thanks to Rocky Mtn Hospice and Beehive Homes of Draper for their most loving and excellent care.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 17, 2012, at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South in Sandy.
