When he returned home he enlisted in the Army Reserves, unit 5016, and went to Fort Lewis every summer for two weeks. During this time he was able to go to the World's Fair in Washington. He found the new inventions that were coming in the future very interesting.Ron's next mission was to get married. The day after he got back from basic training he met his future bride Sharon Jones while at church. The very next weekend he met his future in-laws. He was liked by her Dad because he was an accountant, also. Ron and Sharon were married a year later on July 21, 1960. Ron graduated from the University of Utah in accounting. His first job was with Hotel Utah. He started as an accountant and a year later he was promoted to Cost Controller, and loved the environment the Hotel had to offer. He worked there until it closed 27 years later. After that, he worked for Zion's Mortgage until his retirement in 2001.
