Dorothy Mae Blackham Anderson1926 ~ 2012Dorothy Anderson, age 86, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2012. She was born June 22, 1926 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Joseph Alma Blackham and Edna Elizabeth Hall. She married David LeRoy Anderson on October 28, 1953.Dorothy graduated from West High School in 1943 and worked for the LDS Church for 21 years. She was a secretary in the Quorum of the Twelve office for 21 years when she retired in 1994. She previously worked for The Lang Company and Ajax Presses. Served an LDS mission to Northern California 1949-50. Active member of the LDS Church serving in many callings in the Relief Society, Primary, Sunday School and Young Women organizations and as a temple worker. She enjoyed working to beautify her yard, sewing and home canning. It can truly be said of her that she was without guile; always willing to serve others. Above all else, she enjoyed being with her family, especially her sisters with whom she enjoyed trips to England, Mexico and American and Church history sites. Her grandson, Weston, was the delight of her life. Her faith and strong testimony served her well.She is survived by Judith Donaldson, daughter; grandson Weston Donaldson, son-in-law Ken Donaldson, nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by husband David; daughter Norma Anderson, sisters Mildred Lavender, Lois Sanderson; brother Eugene Blackham; niece Linda B. Nalder; nephew Joel Sanderson.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Noon at the Winder 9th Ward, 1495 E 4705 S, SLC. A viewing will be held Tuesday, November 20 from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Holladay-Cottonwood Memorial Mortuary, 4670 S Highland Drive and on Wednesday at the church one hour prior to the service.
