Max E. Rigby1918 ~ 2012Our beloved father, grandfather, and brother, Max E. Rigby, 93, passed away surrounded by family on November 25, 2012. He was born on November 27, 1918 to Elmer E. Rigby and Florence Emily Taylor in Alta, Wyoming. He was married to Evelyn W. Rigby in Reno, Nevada on December 25, 1942, their marriage was later solemnized on April 11, 1966 in the Salt Lake Temple.Max was an active member of the LDS Church holding many positions. He retired from General Motors and Unit Rig. He was an extremely dedicated and hard worker. He enjoyed being a handy man for his friends and ward members. He worked on the Grant Stake Park for 15 years. He loved to travel with his wife and family and go on lots of cruises. He is survived by his three children, Joan Rigby Besst, Steven M. Rigby (Sue), Glenn E. Rigby. Also survived by two sisters, Ruth Olson (Calvin), Sheron Walker (Norlan), and a brother, Royal Rigby (Francis), six grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. Preceded in death by his wife, brother, Ken, and sister, Lucile, one grandson, Shane Rigby, and son-in-law, Lee Besst.Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 30, 2012, 12 noon at the Brickyard Ward, 1111 East Charlton Ave. (2815 S.). A viewing will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2012, 6 to 8 p.m. at the Murray Memorial Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East, Murray, and 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy.Special thanks to St. Mark's Hospital ICU for their loving care of Max.
