Tennie Marie Watkins Baker1926 ~ 2012Tennie Marie Watkins Barker passed away, due to age related causes, on February 1, 2012 at the age of 85 in Heber City, UT, surrounded by her family.Tennie, a life-long resident of Heber Valley, was born on February 23, 1926 to Ida Marie Rasband and Casey Leroy Watkins. She graduated Wasatch High School class of 1944. Tennie married Don Ray Barker on September 23, 1947 in Salt Lake City, UT and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Tennie, along with her husband Don, owned and operated Barker's Jewelry located in Heber City, UT for over 40 years. She and her husband served a LDS mission in Tampa, Florida. She was actively engaged in the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Tennie served as the Relief Society president of the Heber Third Ward and many other various church callings throughout her life. She found joy in various activities including sewing, quilting, cooking, and gardening. She also greatly loved being surrounded by her family and friends.Tennie is survived by her four children: Valorie (Sherman) Feher, Charolotte, Wells (Sue), and Hugh (Alexandria); her three stepchildren: Raeldon (Dana), Dennis, and Geralee (Brent) Herrick; her 19 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister Janiece Watkins Webster and daughter-in-law, Gayla.Funeral Services will be held Monday, February 6, at the Old Mill Ward Chapel, 1661 East 980 South, at 1 p.m. with a viewing from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to services.
