Utah man killed in Arizona paragliding accident

KINGMAN, Ariz. — A Utah man has been killed in a paragliding accident in northwestern Arizona.

The Mohave County Sheriff's Office said Monday that 33-year-old Matt Lewis on Saturday paraglided off a cliff in an area known as Joe Blake Hill on the Arizona-Utah line on Saturday.

Investigators believe that Lewis was airborne briefly before he crashed into the side of the mountain about 150 below.

Lewis was pronounced dead at the scene. He lived in Ivins in southwestern Utah.

The sheriff's office did not immediately respond to a request about what investigators believe caused the accident.
