Debates are valuable in the U.S. Senatorial race

I was happy to see Republican Senate candidate Dan Liljenquist challenge his opponent Sen. Orrin Hatch to a series of eight debates. These debates will be a valuable way for Utah Republicans to differentiate the candidates so they can make an informed decision.

Comments from Hatch's campaign make it sound like Hatch does not want to participate in any debates. I sure hope this is not the case, since Utahn's deserve the chance to vet the candidates with more than just 10-second soundbites.
