YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Vice President Joe Biden has criticized the background of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney during a speech in swing state Ohio.
Speaking on a factory floor in Youngstown, Biden cast Romney as a corporate raider more interested in profits than in the needs of workers. Biden also blamed Romney for jobs lost at companies that were taken over by the private equity firm the Republican once headed.
Romney's campaign says he had a net job creation record both as a businessman and governor of Massachusetts.
Biden said President Barack Obama's policies would give everyone a fair shake and insure that everyone plays by the same set of rules. He said Romney's policies would make sure the "big guy" thrives while workers and small businesses would have to fend for themselves.
