Mary Kathryn Brotherson Baldwin1933 ~ 2012Mary Kathryn Brotherson Baldwin passed away early Monday morning, May 14, 2012. She was a valiant, courageous woman who met life's joys and struggles with love and an unwavering faith in her Savior.She was born in Mt. Pleasant, Utah, on March 15, 1933, to Vernon H. Brotherson and Nora Velma Tidwell Brotherson. She was a vibrant woman with a beautiful talent for piano playing, cooking, dancing, and serving others. She loved her pioneer heritage and was a member of the DUP. She loved to gather family histories and do geneology work. She gained inner strength and courage from reading and telling their stories. She was a faithful member of the LDS Church.Mary Kathryn attended BYU, where she spent some of her happiest days. She graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Family Living and was very successful in her career as a home economist with Utah Power & Light.She married her sweetheart, Jared Baldwin, in the Salt Lake Temple and they had one son, Glade Jared Baldwin. During Glade's life he faced many physical challenges and Mary Kathryn and Jared cared tenderly for him for 13 years. They never complained and only felt it a privilege and honor to serve their son. Glade passed away in 1985 and Jared passed away in 2005. Mary Kathryn missed them both so much and looked forward to their eternal reunion. Mary Kathryn once wrote "I have found that life moves on but the memories remain and make it possible to endure the dark days and look forward to the time you will be together again."She is survived by her sister, Sharon Stauffer, and numerous family members who loved and adored her. She will be truly missed. She was preceded in death by her sister Elaine Williams. Services will be held on Friday, May 18, 2012 at 12:00 noon at the Garden Heights North Ward 2220 E Fisher Ln (2935 South). Viewing will be Thursday 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary 3401 South Highland Drive and again Friday one hour prior to the services.Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
