Thelma Woolley Fetzer1910 - 2012Our beloved Thelma Woolley Fetzer passed away early on Mother's Day, May 13, in Salt Lake City, at the age of 102.Thelma was born on April 8, 1910 in Salt Lake City to George Edwin Woolley and Elisabeth Andersson, the sixth of eight children. She was raised in the neighborhood of Forest Dale in the love and nurture of her parents and her siblings Leah, Mary, Alvira (Vie), Ruth, George, Fay and Tyler. Thelma attended L.D.S. High School and the University of Utah, earning a degree in education, and taught at the Liberty School. On June 24, 1936, Thelma married Percy Kaspar Fetzer in the Salt Lake Temple. The couple was blessed with five children: Richard (Kathleen Mugleston), Ruth (Stephen L. Carr), Judith (Robert W. Edwards), Robert (Debbie Pratt), and Clark (Jeanne Haglund). This family foundation has since been strengthened by 27 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren.Throughout her life Thelma served faithfully in many church responsibilities including ward Primary president and member of the Young Women's and Primary general boards. She served with her husband, Percy, as he presided over the North German Mission (later, the Berlin Mission) from 1959 to 1963; and from 1977 to 1981 as matron when Percy was the president of the Bern Switzerland Temple. Since her beloved Percy passed away in December 1982, Thelma has endured faithfully to the end with exemplary patience, faith and grace, and with a sweetness and a power of love that has imparted strength to family members, friends and acquaintances.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 19, at 11:00 a.m. at the Neff's Canyon Ward, 4176 S. Adonis Drive (3950 E.). The family will receive friends on Friday, May 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 E. 1300 S., and on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Neff's Canyon Ward. Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 S. Highland Drive.The family wishes to recognize the loving and devoted care given by Freddy Rimmasch Dunkley, Sandra Camargo, Gail Peterson, Jenna Wilson, Teresa Vetter and Allison Carr. We also thank Debbie Cope and the staff of Summit Home Health.One of Mother's favorite charities is the L.D.S. General Temple Patron Assistance Fund.
