ST. GEORGE, Utah — The Salt Lake Community College softball team defeated Western Nebraska Community College 20-1 in the opening round of the NJCAA Division I Women's Softball National Championships.
The Lady Bruins scored 20 runs in five innings of play on 18 hits, leaving only four runners on base. Tanisha Anderson led the attack going 3-for-4 four with five RBIs, including a home run.
SLCC pitcher Ariel Zimmerman went the distance, allowing one run on one hit, while striking out four.
