Many college graduates will have a hard time finding a job, even though more employers are interested in college grads, according to the Wall Street Journal.
New-graduate hiring may rise 10.2 percent to 2011 from 2009, when only 49 percent of graduates were able to find a full-time job a year after graduating, according to the data collected by the Journal. That’s down 73 percent hiring rate from three years ago.
The job market hasn't increased enough to support all those who are job hunting. Plus, graduates will be competing against previous graduates who are still unemployed or underemployed, Carl Van Horn, director of the Heldrich Center, told the Journal.
Even if 2012 graduates were to find a career, their salary will be lower because of the adjusted inflation, according to the Journal.
