Trudy Day EdvalsonNov. 4, 1925~May 16, 2012Ray returned to bring his sweetheart home on Wednesday, May 16, 2012. Trudy was born to Elias L. and Gertrude Van Leeuwen Day, their only daughter, and sister to William H. Day and John M. Day. She graduated from the University of Utah and had a wonderful career educating young minds in kindergarten for the Salt Lake School District. She and Ray met while attending the University, and were married on November 26, 1947 in the Salt Lake Temple. Trudy served in many callings in the LDS church, including secretary for the Sunday School and Mutual, and compassionate service coordinator. She and Ray supervised countless funeral meals and faithfully printed and mailed the ward newsletter for many years in the Highland Park Ward. Although health concerns prevented them from serving a full time mission, they sent their testimonies in hundreds of copies of the Book of Mormon for distribution in the mission field. They contributed financial support to each grandchild serving a mission and also many others who needed assistance. She spent her life in loving service to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She leaves a legacy of love and service for all of us to follow.Preceded in death by her sweet husband Raymond, her parents, and younger brother John.
