I believe Utah is at a critical point in it's history. Will Utah choose to submit to the Common Core in education? Will Utah make a juvenile choice, wanting to "keep up with the Joneses," carelessly sacrificing the very privacy of our children, and the principles taught them?
Or will Utah celebrate her own strengths, recognize her own weaknesses, fortify those weaknesses and maintain control of her own future? Ironically, the elected members of our state school board have the power to free or enslave the citizens and children (future citizens) of our state.
Will they bend to powerful pressure? Will they value the skin they have in the game over the freedom and privacy of those they serve? I hope not. I hope they find the mental strength to plow through all the information they are presented with. I hope they have the clarity of mind to understand the principles, values and freedoms that are at stake. I hope they have the courage to make correct decisions, regardless of personal consequences.
