PHILADELPHIA — The Barnes Foundation is opening in its new home in Philadelphia but the controversy surrounding its move hasn't gone away.

Supporters of the relocation of the multibillion-dollar art collection from its small, former suburban home to the museum-studded Benjamin Franklin Parkway say it can now been seen by more people.

Those who have long opposed the move say it was wrong to go against Albert Barnes' wishes that his art never should be moved.

A judge approved the relocation from suburban Merion in 2004 but a lengthy court battle followed.
