GLADSTONE, N.J. — Stacy Lewis is a step closer to her second straight victory on the LPGA Tour.
She won the first four holes and beat Sandra Gal 4 and 3 Friday in the second round of the Sybase Match Play Championship.
Lewis is the leading American money winner on tour this year. Two weeks ago, she won on the tour for the second time.
This tournament has become a minefield for the tour's marquee players. Defending champion Suzann Pettersen, No. 4 ranked Ai Miyazato and American stars Paula Creamer Brittany Lincicome and Michelle Wie lost in the opening round.
