Salt Lake's KQOL, FM-106.5, became Utah's first-ever all-sports radio station with a plan for 24 hours of programming. Sullivan Broadcasting in New York recently acquired the station and the new owners are willing to invest into what isn't a cheap format. Steve Evans, the station's manager said the change is a survival tactic in a market that is believed to have more stations per capita than anywhere else in the nation. A station in Little Rock, Ark., is believed to be the only other FM outfit with an all-sports format.
