Opal Bauer Topham1936 ~ 2012Opal Bauer Topham, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Monday, May 14, 2012. Born Oct. 12, 1936 in Cedar City to John Carlos and Aurelia Worthen Bauer. Graduated Cedar High School, attended SUU and later graduated Darrel's Beauty College. Met her sweetheart, Kenneth Marlo Topham, on a blind date and they married in the St. George Temple on June 9, 1959. They had and raised 7 children.Served faithfully in many church callings, including Relief Society President, Primary President and in the Stake Young Women's Presidency. She and Ken served together in South Carolina Columbia Mission for the LDS Church. Spent many hours as a pink lady hospital volunteer.Opal and her beautiful smile will be greatly missed by her loved ones, but she has forever touched their lives. Being a wife, mother and grandmother were her highest priorities and her love for life showed in all she did. Was an amazing seamstress, loved attending any event that her children and grandchildren were involved in and had a great sense of humor. Loved singing with Blue Notes and enjoyed attending Club with close friends.Leave a wonderful legacy for her loving husband, Ken; and children: Tammy Topham, Lisa (Joey) Skinner, Kendall (Michelle) Topham, Greg (Michelle) Topham, Susan (Kraig) Hafen, Todd (Lynn) Topham, Kurtis (Stacia) Topham; 28 grandchildren and 2 3/4 great-grandchildren; sisters: Norma (Don) Jefferies, Colleen (Dono) Webster, Bobette (Stewart) Vorkink; brothers: Gordon (Carolyn) Bauer, Duane (Sharon) Bauer. Preceded in death by parents; brothers: Wallace and Raymond Bauer; sister: Marjorie Blackburn.The family expresses gratitude to many doctors and nurses who have been caring for her the past few weeks.Funeral: Monday, May 21, 11am, Delta 3rd Ward, 197 S. 300 W. Viewings: Sunday evening, 6-8pm, Delta 3rd Ward, and prior to services, 9-10:40am. Burial at Parowan Cemetery, Monday at 3:30pm.
