Maurine Andrus Adams1933 ~ 2012Finally, reunited with her sweetheart. Maurine Andrus Adams passed peacefully away on May 17, 2012. Maurine was born on February 4, 1933 at the Kamas Hotel in Kamas, Utah to Willard O and Gwendolyn Andrus. Maurine was born the last of eight children. Giving up professional sports and ballet for a very handsome sailor, Maurine married Fred P Adams on June 6, 1951 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Fred passed away in August of 1975. She lived a life active in camping, sports, scouts, and family activities. Maurine was well known for her active participation in church sports as a referee and coach. Upon Fred's untimely passing, this happy homemaker was thrust into taking charge of her husband's business. She not only excelled, but received accolades on a local and national level. Maurine is survived by her children; Kathleen (Philip A) Gammell, Deborah Adams, Kristine (Vernal) Sorensen, Allen F (Karri Moore) Adams, (Sharon Nollner) Adams, Gary P (Cindy Thornberg) Adams, Garth F (Suzanne Madsen) Adams; 21 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, brother Garth (Eloise) Andrus, sisters Gwendolyn Sundberg, and Wanda (Dan) Mackintosh. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Maurine, son Michael, brother Marlin Andrus, and sisters Maxine (Jean) Wilde, Lucy (Vaughn) Erickson, and Lavon Andrus. Maurine will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at 11am at the Holladay 26th Ward, 4601 S Chapel Street (2565 E), Holladay, Utah . Family and friends may call Tuesday, May 22, 2012 from 6-8pm at the Cannon Mortuary 2460 E Bengal Blvd (7600 S), Cottonwood Heights, Utah and Wednesday 10-10:45am prior to services at the church.
