Shirley Jean Felsted Johnson1930 ~ 2012Shirley Jean Felsted Johnson passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2012. Shirley Jean was born on October 12, 1930, to Ethel Perry and John Howard Felsted in Salt Lake City, Utah. She met her loving and dedicated husband, Eldon Paul Johnson, on a blind date. They were married on June 19, 1948, and later sealed with their family in the Salt Lake Temple. Jean was an active member of the LDS church. Her and her husband served an LDS mission to Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1987. Jean was well known for her gift with a needle and thread; she made many intricate quilts. Jean's testimony of the Savior was felt strongly by those in her ward and family through her testimony, example, and participation in the choir.Shirley Jean is survived by her husband, Eldon Paul; five children, David Paul, Mark F., Gary Brent, Lorrie Swain, and Lisa Welsh; 22 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Jody Daly.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 21, 2012 at the Lakeside 1st Ward Chapel, 131 South 1600 West, Provo, Utah. Friends may call at the Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 East Center Street, Sunday evening from 6 until 8 and at the church Monday from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to services.
