Wilma Jones1936 ~ 2012Wilma Vaughn Jones passed away on May 18, 2012 in Sandy, Utah. She was born on October 18, 1936 in Mississippi. Wilma started her career as a teacher/counselor at Job Core in Ogden, Utah while attending Westminster University in pursuits of her MA in Interdisciplinary Studies, Social Science and Education. Wilma had a long career of teaching starting out as a professor at Westminster. She also taught at South, East, West and Highland High, teaching Photography, English and worked with challenged students. Wilma was a board member of Planned Parenthood contributing huge steps in the development of the program while also a proud business owner, founding Serendipity Day Care in Sugarhouse, Salt Lake City, Utah. Her philosophies have changed and touched many lives and the ties created could never be unbound. She will be missed as a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Wilma was a wonderful bright and loving person who continues to change lives even in heaven. Survived by Kina Coleman, Marcus Richards, Mona Oliver and Brennen Oliver. Preceded in death by her husband, Mark Jones. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State Street, Midvale, Utah.
