CHARLOTTE, N.C. — LDS missionaries provided hours of service during the multi-city, dual-stake Day of Service here this year.
Mormon missionaries helped unload and sort donations at food bank drop-off cites throughout the area.
At the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina warehouse in Charlotte, N.C., nearly 20 missionaries painted hundreds of collection barrels. Laughter, camaraderie and a united effort to serve an agency that serves so many in need permeated the day's events.
Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and Second Harvest staff commented on how professional, kind and hard-working the missionaries were.
"They were a wonderful and necessary asset and set a perfect example for those that they came in contact with," said John Lewis, the Gastonia North Carolina Stake's director of public affairs.
