WASHINGTON — At least one of the jurors in the Roger Clemens perjury trial has some concerns about a key witness' credibility.
A transcript released Tuesday reveals that one of the jurors wanted to ask Brian McNamee: "Why should we believe you when you have shown so many inconsistencies in your testimonies?"
It was one of 29 written questions submitted by jurors after the testimony from Clemens' longtime strength coach. McNamee says he injected Clemens with steroids and human growth hormone. Clemens told Congress in 2008 that he never used those substances.
Unlike most judges, U.S. District Judge Reggie Walton permits jurors to submit questions, but not all get asked.
Regarding the one about McNamee's credibility, the judge said: "I won't ask that. That's for them to decide."
The trial resumes Wednesday.
