Hal Taylor1923 ~ 2012St. George/Salina, UtahOur kind and beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Harold Varr "Hal" Taylor, age 89, died May 18, 2012 at his home in St. George, with his family at his side. He was born March 17, 1923 in Fremont, Utah, a son of George Irvin and Katherine Butler Taylor.He graduated from Wayne High School, Class of 1942. He attended Utah State University and received a Bachelors in Business. Hal served his country during World War II in the United States Army, where he was awarded a Purple Heart. Hal married Hope Hunt, February 9, 1943 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were later divorced. He married Faye Webster Hatch, August 31, 1996 in Salina, Utah.He is survived by his wife, Faye, of St. George and Salina; children: Narda and Tony Bilow of The Woodlands, Texas; Vardell and Brenda Taylor of West Jordan; Brenda Taylor of St. George; Janeal and Scott Musser of Niceville, Florida; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Thelma T. Behunin of Salt Lake City.He was preceded in death by 1 granddaughter, 2 great-grandchildren; 5 brothers and 2 sisters.Funeral services will be held Friday, May 25, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. in the Salina LDS Stake Center, 98 West 400 North in Salina, where friends may call for viewing Thursday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the services. Burial with military honors accorded by the Salina American Legion Post #36, the Harold Brown American Legion Post #92 and the Utah Honor Guard will be Friday afternoon at 3:30 P.M. in the Bicknell Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
