SALT LAKE CITY — Two men were charged Tuesday with 56 counts of theft, vehicle burglary, criminal mischief and unlwaful use of victim's credit cards, among other crimes.
Axel Garcia, 20, and Joshua Isham, 20, were charged in 3rd District Court after the duo allegedly smashed in car windows and stole items in southern Salt Lake County during a two-week period between April 7 and April 20, according to court documents. Stolen property ranged from GPS units and iPods, to checkbooks and credit cards.
The defendants were identified when Isham's father went to police asking if there had been any recent burglaries in the Draper area and that he may know who was involved. The two later admitted to police to having been involved in the thefts, court documents state.
Garcia and Isham are charged with one second-degree felony, nine third-degree felonies, 18 class A misdemeanors and 28 class B misdemeanors.
