Leslie Winder1952-2012Leslie Dale McDonald Winder, age 59, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on May 21, 2012. Leslie was born October 17, 1952 in Renton, Washington to Dwain C. and Yvonne P. McDonald.She graduated from West Seattle High School and attended Ricks College where she met her eternal sweetheart Doug Winder. She also attended Brigham Young University. She married Doug Winder on May 30, 1973 in the Salt Lake Temple. Leslie always desired to have a large family and sought out six children to adopt from all areas of the world. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and always put her family ahead of any physical challenges that she faced. She was a mother to all the children in the neighborhood and was an example of selfless service to all she met. Her constant concern for all around her left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Leslie always made others feel like they were the most important. Faced with debilitating physical and medical challenges she always stayed cheerful, courageous, and never complained. She had an unwavering faith in the Saviour to the very end.Leslie is survived by her husband Doug, children: Julie (Doug) Webb, Russell (Valerie), Chandi (Bryan) Hurd, Alex (Jamie), Angie (Kami) and Jeff; father Dwain McDonald, siblings Linda, Sandra (Barry), Wendy (Sam), Nancy and Bill (Diane); and 8 grandchildren.In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the LDS Church humanitarian fund.Funeral services will be held on Friday May 25, 2012 at 12:00 Noon at the South Jordan 6th Ward Chapel, 9800 South 2550 West. A viewing will be held on Thursday May 24, 2012 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the LDS meetinghouse at 9750 South 2200 West and from10:30 to 11:30 A.M. prior to the services at the South Jordan 6th Ward, 2550 West 9800 South.
