Ruth was born to Bertha May Vermilion and Ira Elmer Stutzman on August 4, 1919 in Ransom, Kansas. She married Frederick Charles Ritter in the North Glendale Methodist Church on February 16, 1949. They enjoyed 58 wonderful years together.Ruth grew up in a small farming community in Ransom, Kansas. She graduated from college in Business, and enjoyed careers in teaching and as a secretary. Ruth served as a WAVE in the Navy during WW II. She had a charitable spirit, a sharp mind, and the desire to help others. Ruth's strong faith and religion were always important to her, and she loved attending church and worshiping with others. Ruth moved to Southern California in 1947, where she met and married Fred Ritter. In California, they raised their two girls, built a wonderful life together, and made many life-long friends. In 2003, Ruth and Fred moved to Utah, where Ruth continued to uplift everyone she met. Ruth joined the L.D.S. church in 2005, at the age of 85. She enjoyed being a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Ruth enjoyed a special relationship with her three sisters ("The Girls"), and they kept our families close. During her long life, Ruth loved traveling by motorhome across the U.S., traveling around the world with friends (cruises and trips), camping (especially with grandchildren), playing games, music, Square-dancing, sewing, and being with people she loved!
