PLEASANT GROVE — Utility rates for residents are scheduled to increase, and the change will be reflected in July utility bills.
In December of 2010, Pleasant Grove adopted a four-year utility rate increase plan to budget for the ongoing infrastructure needs for the city. The plan was set to increase a resident's overall utility bill by approximately $10 per month per year for the next four years. The first two rate increases have already been implemented and July's bill will show the third step in these increases.
The rates were verified by a rate study and were essential to the financial health of the utility funds, according to a press release from the city.
For more information on the rate increases, residents can visit the city website at www.plgrove.org under the title: Utility Rate Increase Information. The website further explains the process of the rate increases.
