SALT LAKE CITY — A stolen minivan specially equipped for a man who is a quadriplegic has been recovered.

The van was found abandoned with the keys still in it about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday at 326 E. Bryan Ave., said Taylorsville Police Lt. Rosie Rivera. It had been rummaged through but there did not initially appear to be any significant damage.

The van belongs to Dustin Godnick, who is restricted to a wheelchair and needs to use the van daily for his business and to get around town. It was stolen from Godnick's driveway, near 1800 West and 6000 South, sometime between 9 and 10 p.m. Monday and 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The van has special hand controls so Godnick is able to drive it, and also has extra space for his motorized wheelchair.

Rivera said police were working on leads about a possible suspect.
