Donna L Jenkins1915 ~ 2012Donna passed away on a bright, sunny morning Sunday, June 17, 2012 surrounded by loved ones, she was 97 years old. She was born on January 27, 1915 to William and Mary Vincent in Salt Lake; she was the first of 9 children and learned her maternal abilities at an early age. She graduated from West High School when she was 16 and went to work at the Sweet Candy Company. She finished her working career as a saleswoman at Auerbach's when she married Pres Jenkins at the age of 21. She and Pres raised 5 children and had a good life together.Donna was an intelligent and strong woman. She had a wonderful memory which is the polite way of saying she never forgot. Donna was attractive and very lady like. She wanted things a certain way and some may say she was exception oriented. She was a very loving and kind person and always had a smile for family and others. Her family was the most important part of her life and she dearly loved us all. Donna was very spiritual and she followed the religious teachings of her youth throughout her entire life. She was well read and in later years she became a real news hawk. She was able to travel to all the places she wanted to see in the world, some with Pres and some with friends and family. Donna was a charter member of the Southeast Lady Lions and enjoyed the many activities and friendships offered to her through this affiliation. Donna was preceded in death by: husband Preston Jenkins: daughter Janet and son-in-law Donald Miller: daughter Susan Jenkins Gall: and daughter Linda Winter. She is survived by: son Ted Jenkins: son Kelly and daughter-in-law Toni Jenkins and their three children: son-in-law Fred Winter: grandson Rob Winter: granddaughter Tonya Winter and her three children; grandson Curtis Miller: grandson Brad and his wife Sharon Miller and their three children: grandson Scott and his wife Vanessa Miller and their four children: grandsons Michael and Lenny Gall: granddaughter Barbara and her husband Martin John-Cox and their three children.Donna was also preceded in death by six of her siblings and is survived by her brother Jack Vincnet and her sister Mary Smuin: many nieces, nephews and some good friends.The family would like to thank Millcreek Home Health and Hospice for their concern and tender care of Donna for the last eight months.
