TOOELE VALLEY — The third annual visit to Miller Motorsports Park by the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series got underway on Saturday.
Defending Pro 4 class champion Carl Renezeder got off to a good start, taking a victory over Todd LeDuc. LeDuc took the checkered flag 2.31 seconds behind the winner, with Eric Barron, Ryan Beat and hometown favorite Jerry Daugherty of Riverton, Utah, in fifth.
Motocross legend Brian Deegan scored a double, winning both the Pro 2 and Pro Lite class races. In the Pro 2 race, Deegan cruised to a 9.41-second margin of victory over points leader Marty Hart, with Patrick Clark, Rob Naughton and Robby Woods finishing third through fifth, respectively.
In the Pro Lite race, Deegan came home 1.45 seconds ahead of Ryan Beat, with Justin Smith, Bradley Morris and Austin Kimbrell completing the top five. Local drivers Aaron Daugherty and Ron Duncombe were 17th and 18th, respectively.
The Super Lite race saw championship leader Sheldon Creed first across the finish line, 1.1 second ahead of Drew Britt, with Dawson Kirchner, Jessie Johnson and Brent Fouch filling out the top five.
Doug Fortin emerged the winner in the Pro Buggy class, edging Mike Porter by 0.81 second, ahead of Steven Grinke, Larry Job and Dave Mason.
Other class winners were Jordan Poole in Limited Buggy, Myles Cheek in Modified Kart, Dylan Winbury in Junior Kart 2 and Conner McMullen in Junior Kart 1.
