Joan Foote1937 ~ 2012Joan was born June 12, 1937 in Salt Lake City to Percy Schmucker and Alpha Argyle. She passed away peacefully June 15, 2012 of causes incidental to age surrounded by her family at Lake View Hospital, Bountiful, Utah. She grew up and attended school in the Salt Lake area. She married Clifford Foote on April 23, 1961 and later relocated to Spokane Washington. As they began raising their family, she made many wonderful friendships through her association with several local bowling leagues. She also enjoyed live music, dancing and entertaining family and friends. The family returned to Salt Lake in 1968. She was employed at the Olympic Club where she continued to add to her circle of friends. She was a devoted wife and mother. She was a champion for animal rights and belonged to the ASPCA. She was fond of all animals and provided a wonderful home for many. She was preceded in death by her parents and survived by her children, Kent (Sandy) Foote, Shaun (Kent) Gines, siblings, Gary (Nita) Schmucker, Sharon (Robert) Ford, and Tom (Pia) Schmucker. Also many loved nieces and nephews. She enjoyed spoiling her six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was a blessing in the lives of family and friends alike. Her examples of kindness and love will forever remain in our hearts until we meet again!A family gathering to celebrate her life will be held at a later datepending arrival of family members.
