Joan Thompson Glaus1931 - 2012On Thursday, June 21, 2012 as the day came to an end, Joan Thompson Glaus peacefully passed from this life surrounded by her loved ones.Joan was born on September 11, 1931 in Hyrum, Utah to Carter and Betty Nielsen Thompson. She attended Davis High School where she was a cheerleader. She worked in sales and modeled for several department stores including Makoff in Salt Lake and The Joseph Magnin Co. in San Francisco.She married Gordon Glaus and recently celebrated 60 wonderful years together. They raised three wonderful sons, Bradford, Stafford and Parker. She loved cheering on her sons in various sports such as baseball, golf and tennis. She went from a cub-scout mom to a fraternity mom as she supported her sons in all they did. She enjoyed playing tennis for years at Salt Lake Swim and Tennis Club and ladies golf at Hidden Valley Country Club.Joan and Gordon traveled extensively and especially loved going to Coronado, CA every winter. One memorable trip was to Norway to embrace her Norwegian heritage.The family would like to express sincere appreciation to Millcreek Home and Hospice for the tender care they provided to Joan.Joan is survived by her husband, Gordon and sons Bradford (Sheri) and Stafford (Ketya) and daughter-in-law Becky, grandchildren Lindsey Stobbe, Tyler, Rylee, Briggs and Tobin and great-grandchildren Carter, Jackson and James Stobbe.
