ORLANDO, Fla. — The Orlando Magic have selected St. Bonaventure power forward Andrew Nicholson with the 19th pick in the NBA draft.
A Canadian-native, the 6-foot-9 Nicholson played four seasons at St. Bonaventure and finished as the Atlantic 10 Player of the Year as a senior. He averaged 18.5 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game in his final college season.
He also fits the mold of the Magic's outside shooting big men, having shot 43 percent from the 3-point line last season as well.
This is the first of two picks that the Magic entered day with on Thursday. They also have the 49th pick in the second round. The Magic did not have a first round pick in 2011.
