Sandusky jury pool told they won't be sequestered

BELLEFONTE, Pa. — Prospective jurors in Jerry Sandusky's child sexual abuse case are getting some good news: They won't have to spend nights away from home during the trial that's expected to take several weeks.

Judge John Cleland told the 240 members of the jury pool Tuesday to avoid news accounts or social media posts about the former Penn State assistant football coach's criminal trial.

Sandusky is in court during the jury selection process. Sandusky laughed at the judge's jokes, but put his head down when Cleland told jurors the nature of the charges.

Jurors are being chosen from people who live in the State College area, where Penn State's main campus is located. Sandusky faces 52 criminal counts for alleged abuse of 10 boys, charges he denies.
