KEARNS — Police on Friday arrested one of the men believed to have stolen custom-made ice skates and other items from lockers at the Utah Olympic Oval last week.
Jesse Michael Wood, 41, was identified via surveillance video released by the facility earlier this week. Wood was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on suspicion of theft. Among the items stolen from the lockers were two cell phones and a pair of speed skates valued at several thousand dollars, according to Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal.
A second man seen in video footage has yet to be identified. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 801-743-7000.
Wood has a history of felony theft convictions, as well as other charges, including drug possession and violation of a protective order. Court documents indicate that Wood was on probation when the Oval theft occurred late last Thursday or early Friday morning.
