Diane Russell1938 ~ 2012CLINTON Our beautiful, sweet mother Diane Stevenson Russell passed away July 26, 2012. She was a shining example of happiness and grace while battling multiple health problems. Diane was born October 18, 1938, to Viola Levinah Johnson and John Syvil Stevenson.Growing up in West Layton, Diane graduated from Davis High School. She was known for humorous readings and participation in road show productions.Diane married Frank Cummit January 22, 1960, and had four children. They later divorced. While involved in the special interest program she met her "knight in shining armor", William Robert Russell. They married August 17, 1974, which created a family of nine children! The marriage was solemnized in the Ogden Temple two years later to the day.Mom enjoyed working hard creating a beautiful, organized, and clean environment in her home and yard. She loved her family and they were the delight of her life! She never forgot a birthday for nine children, twenty-six grandchildren, 42 great-grand children, and one great-great-grandchild. She was excited for 6 new babies to be born this year!Diane was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and her testimony was an example to her posterity. She enjoyed many opportunities to serve and associate with others.Mom was a people person. She loved to laugh, and always gifted visitors with a beautiful smile and a positive attitude. She was blessed to make a friend of all, and had a deep capacity to love others; she was a living example of "Let your light so shine". Mom has always shown dignity through her physical adversities, coping through humor and faith.Mom had many caregivers throughout the years and loved them all. They became an extension of her family. We give special thanks for the many hours of relief and care provided. She loved and relied on her ward/branch, friends, neighbors, Legacy Village of Layton, Harmony Home Health and Advocate Hospice.Surviving children, Brad Russell (Pam), Jill Russell Palmer, Marc Russell (Stanley), Jana Kano (Arthur), Denise Deru (Curt), Donald Russell, John Russell (Sheri), Mindy Garver (Kim), Sheila Sadler. One sister Connie Lewis (Dick) and one brother Gayle Stevenson (Nancy). Also special friend Randy Van Valzer.Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 30, 2012, at 1:00 p.m., at the Clinton North Stake Center, 1448 West 1800 North, Clinton, Utah. A viewing will be held on Sunday, July 29, 2012, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, Roy, Utah, and on Monday from 11:45 12:45 p.m., prior to services at the Stake Center.Interment in the Clinton City Cemetery.Condolences may be sent to the family at www.myers-mortuary.com.
