Jean A. Fugal1917 ~ 2012Jean A. Fugal was born on July 3, 1917 to Jens and Lavina Fugal and lived most of his life in Pleasant Grove, Utah. He received his elementary and secondary education there. At 16, he graduated from Pleasant Grove High School and attended BYU, then USU, and in later years received his Master's Degree at the University of Utah. Jean married Maxine Robinson of American Fork, Utah in the Salt Lake Temple on September 20, 1939. Jean taught school for 34 years. Jean was an active member of the LDS Church and served faithfully in many callings including Bishop of the Timpanogos Third Ward. He was an Ordinance Worker in the Salt Lake, Provo, and Mt. Timpanogos Temples for 32 years. Jean and Maxine served three full-time missions: Tallahassee, FL and to the Atlanta Georgia and Dallas Texas Temples. Jean and Maxine celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary with all five children and spouses in attendance, prior to Maxine's passing. They are the parents of five children: Paul (Luanne) Fugal, Karen (Glenn H.) Peterson, Mac (Pat) Fugal, Colleen (Jim) Starr and Anne (Ray) Pollmann; 17 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren and five great great-grandchildren with two on the way. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Ricky Fugal and his beloved wife Maxine. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 3, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Timpanogos Third Ward Chapel, 425 East 500 North, Pleasant Grove. Family and friends may attend a viewing Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove and at the church on Friday one hour prior to services.
