Ruth Anne Gale "Charlie"Our loving wife & companion, mother, and grandmother passed away peacefully Jul. 30, 2012 at home surrounded by her family. She was born May 26, 1935 to Elmer and Helen Stanhope in Hartland, Maine. She married the love of her life, Leslie A. Gale Jr. on Feb 16, 1957 in Newport, Maine. Together they had 4 wonderful children. She loved camping with her family, wood carving and crafts. Ruth's kitchen was always open for everyone. Her favorite pastimes was playing bingo and going to Wendover. She was a special friend to many. Ruth was always a lady. She is survived by her husband; children, Steven (Ann), Stuart (Sharon), John (Aparna) Gale, James (Dixie) Gale, 14 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brother, Merton (Elaine) Stanhope; sister-in-law, Ida Parker and 7 nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents and 1 niece.Memorial services will be held Sun. Aug. 5, 2012, 5:30pm at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W. 2700 So. Visitation following services from 6-8pm.
