SPANISH FORK — The city of Spanish Fork has named a veteran of its police department as its new police chief.

City officials chose Steve Adams as the new chief to replace former Chief Dee Rosenbaum, who was fired amid in March a shoplifting investigation.

The Daily Herald reports the city chose Adams from 25 applicants around the country.

Adams has worked in Spanish Fork since 1988. He became a sergeant in 1991 and lieutenant in 2003.
