I'm used to giving this advice in perpetually soggy Ireland, but it seems nearly as appropriate for these Olympics: If you don't like the weather, just wait 20 minutes. And if you want a sneak preview, just look southwest towards the prevailing winds.
On Sunday, the London skies turned downright schizophrenic. Around 2 p.m., it was pouring rain on the Olympic Park on London's East End. At that same moment in the leafy southwest suburbs of Wimbledon, tennis fans were sweltering under a closed Center Court roof before the start of the Federer-Murray final. Spectators cheered as the roof opened to relieve the sauna conditions and let the sun shine in.
