Obituary: LOMAX, JERRY


Jerry L. Lomax3/16/1934 ~ 9/23/2012Loving brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away Sunday, September 23, 2012. Jerry was born to Estella and Gerald O. Lomax on March 16, 1934, in Salt Lake City, Utah.Jerry was an avid golfer and is probably attempting another hole-in-one. He loved the outdoors and spending time with his family. He worked as a mechanic as a young man at Clarks Service. A driver for Utah Transit Authority, later he worked as a driver for the Utes sporting teams, driving for the University of Utah motor pool. Jerry later became a mechanic and worked as a motor pool supervisor before his retirement.Jerry was a veteran and served as a field mechanic for the United States Army during the Korean conflict. Before joining the service he married Avor LeVeda Krans. They had two children, later divorced. He married Lauana Heath and had three additional children.Jerry is survived by his brothers John (Vicki) and Larry (Marriett) Lomax; his children James (Debbie), Shauna (Bryan), Jerry Jr. (Julie), Pam, and Leeann plus many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, wife Lauana, his brother Michael, his sister Joyce, and his grandson Thomas.Funeral services will be held at Salt Lake City Cemetery, 200 N Street, Salt Lake City, UT, on Friday, September 28, 2012. Viewing at Memorial Mortuaries, 5850 South 900 East, Murray, UT, on Thursday, September 27, 2012, from 6:00 8:00 pm.
