Winifred Lovell Jones1914 ~ 2012Winifred Lovell Jones, 97, passed away in the loving arms of her husband, Clifford, on August 29, 2012. She was born September 28, 1914 in Flagstaff, Arizona. She now joins her sister, Myrna; her brothers, Rosen and Wesley; her father, David Lovell; and her mother, Amy Jones, who preceded her in death.Winifred is survived by her husband of 75 years, Clifford; her sons, Gary (Ardene) Jones; Brian (Susie) Jones; grandchildren, Andrea (Jeffery) Bridgeforth, Adrienne Sanders, Benjamin (Sally) Jones, Matthew (Taylor) Jones, Ellen (Kristopher) Green; six great grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.Winifred graduated from Northern Arizona University with degrees in music and Spanish and studied to be a concert pianist. She married her sweetheart, Clifford Grover Jones, in 1937 in Oakland, California. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.Winifred loved the study of languages and transcribed and researched ancient Hebrew for 60 years of her life. After raising her sons, she earned her teaching credential at the University of Utah and taught first grade at East Millcreek Elementary.Winifred was always a learner, a lover of the arts, a master seamstress, a outstanding bridge player, but most of all a wonderful mother, grandmother and adoring wife.A private celebration of Winifred's life was held on September 1, 2012, with the immediate family in attendance.www.goffmortuary.com
