Elvira Neumann1941 ~ 2013Elvira Neumann, 71, our loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away suddenly on January 7, 2013. She was born October 4, 1941 in Stettin, East Prussia, Germany, the daughter of Werner Tegge and Dorothy Tegge. Elvira married Reinhard Neumann on September 4, 1964 in the Salt Lake Temple. Mom loved music. She served a stake singing mission. Elvira was a member of the Salt Lake Oratory Society. As a member of this society, Elvira and Reinhard participated in many Handel's Messiah presentations. Mom also enjoyed playing the piano for her personal enjoyment. Mom's favorite job was being a pre-school teacher for ten years. She was "Miss Elvira" to her beloved three-year olds. This job brought her tremendous joy. She was excited to see a former student all grown up. Her students always remembered her with great fondness. Mom loved and was proud of her husband (of 48 years), her children, her daughter-in-law, her son-in-law and her granddaughter. She also loved Elvis, holidays and remembering everyone's birthday. Elvira had a great passion for writing and sending cards. She was well-loved and will be greatly missed. Elvira is survived by her husband, Reinhard Neumann, children, Darrell (Carolyn) Neumann and Doreen (William) Shelton, granddaughter, Lindsey Neumann and brother, Lothar Tegge. She is preceded in death by her parents. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to friends and neighbors of Elvira and Reinhard for their love and support over the years.
