William Brent Black "Bill"1920 ~ 2013William Brent Black "Bill", beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away peacefully on January 10, 2013 from natural causes.William was born in Avera, Georgia on December 2, 1920 to William Lawson Black and Addie Lee McCoy. Veteran of World War II serving in the First Calvary Division. Worked at Greyhound Bus Lines and Sugar House Van Lines. He married Elaine Bellows on June 10, 1954 in the Salt Lake temple. He was a devout member of the LDS Church and served in various callings. He served as a Salt Lake Temple worker. He and his wife resided in Sugarhouse and attended the Bryan Ward for many years. Later, Bill and Elaine moved to West Jordan where he faithfully attended the Jordan River Temple.He loved watching Nascar, the Jazz and BYU games.He is survived by his wife, Elaine, his children: Brenda (Eric) Torgersen, Karen Christensen, Tammy (Brad) Keyser, Georgia (Scott) Keyser, and Teresa Reynolds. They have nineteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, James, Leon (Hazel), Charles (Mattie), Billy Ray (Hide), Frances McKnight, Betty Kent and sister-in-Law, Lyla Black. In addition he leaves many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Joseph Thomas and Dewey Jerome.Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 15 at 12:00 noon at the Mountain Shadows 7th Ward, 7925 South 2700 West, West Jordan. A viewing will be held Monday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. 10600 South, Sandy and also one hour prior to the funeral service on Tuesday at the ward. Interment will be at the West Jordan City Cemetery following the service.
