Berniece Davis Ashby KellyDecember 2, 1924 ~ January 16, 2013"Classy Lady"Berniece Marie Davis Ashby Kelly, 88, passed away early Wednesday morning at her daughter's home from natural causes. Berniece was born in Sandy, Utah to George Dryberg Davis and Isabell Burkinshaw Davis. She had one special sister, Marilyn (Rawson) whom she adored and helped raise. She married Eldon P. Ashby in San Diego in 1942, with whom she had three special daughters, Martha LaFond, Garden Grove, CA; Linda (Ron) Woodward, West Jordan; and Laurie Pack, South Jordan. They later divorced, and she married T. Earl Kelly. Berniece had many cherished friends that her and Earl traveled with. She also had one special lifelong friend, Isabell Cowdell. Our mother was one classy lady who loved her children dearly and always had a special hug and smile for all of her nine grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She loved to go dancing and spending time with family and friends. During World War II she worked for Fort Douglas, and also worked for Albertson's, and retired from Cottonwood Hospital. She also served four years on the Board of Directors for the Intermountain Health Care Amicus Foundation.Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at 12:00 Noon at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, Midvale, where there will be a viewing held one hour prior to services. Interment, Sandy City Cemetery.www.goffmortuary.com
