Alta Maple Wonder1916 ~ 2013SAINT GEORGE, UTAHAlta Wonder was 96 when she passed away on January 10, 2013, in what she referred to as paradise, Saint George, UT. Alta was born on March 17, 1916 in Ridge, Montana and grew up on the ranch to the proud parents Edna and Charlie Maple. Alta married Charles Wonder in June of 1938, who has preceded her in death in 1987. In 1988, Alta finds love once again in Noor Ahmad, which fueled a passion and partnership that would last until her final breaths. Preceding Alta in death is one of her two sons, Terry Maple Wonder who passed away on May 16, 2007. Alta was passionate about dancing and loved animals, especially her childhood horse, Bill. She graduated from the University of Utah with a bachelor degree in English and Arts. Alta had a wonderful life that most people only dream of living. She traveled the world as part of the Foreign Services to places such as: Turkey, Austria, Morocco, Madagascar, Germany and Spain to just name a few. Alta and Noor visited Hawaii with memories she still mentioned this year. They enjoyed the trip so much that their condo in Saint George mimicked the condo they stayed at in Hawaii. She lived the life of royalty and the vision of a true optimist. Our dear Alta will be sadly missed. Two of the immortal phrases Alta picked up in life along the way and strived to live by are: "Just look for the good things and you will find them" and "Beware of the regrets of yesterday and the fears of tomorrow, as they are twin thieves that rob us of today". She is survived by Noor Ahmad, a loving companion and best friend. Noor's devotion and strength is a testament of their true love that spans across time. A loving son, Greg Wonder, Shea'ton and Carla Wonder McDowell and family. Grandchildren: Shawn Russell Wonder, Skip Patrick Wonder, Rollen, Trish, Rollen III and Lakai Poole, Brandin and Shea' Russell Hugie. Alta had many wonderful friends such as, Jack and Anna Milburm and Burt and Lois Spiegel. Shair and Carol Ahmad, Abdul and Afifa Ahmad and the many Ahmad family members. There are many people out there that knew and loved our mom. If you are not mentioned, please know that if mom were here she would have made sure that you were mentioned. Our best wishes to all of you. Zindagi
