COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS — A 21-year-old man was in critical condition Sunday after he was allegedly stabbed multiple times by his teenage brother during an argument, police said.
The victim, who was not identified by Cottonwood Heights Police, underwent surgery at Intermountain Medical Center for multiple stab wounds to his side and arm, said Sgt. Gary Young.
Young said police were summoned to a residence at 2653 E. Creek Road about 5:15 a.m. Sunday, where the brothers had been attending a family gathering that had ended hours earlier.
Young said alcohol may have been a factor but it is not yet clear what triggered the disagreement between the brothers.
The 16-year-old boy was taken into custody, booked into detention and faces possible charges of aggravated assault, Young said.
